Transition and Phase of Life Issues

Changes and transitions are a normal part of life, especially for young adults. Some common changes that can be challenging could be trying to find friends and build community at a new college, navigating a break-up, moving to a new city, starting a new job, or questioning faith.

Transition age adults (ages 18-25) might find it hard to adjust to the concept of adulting and learning to relate to parents now that you are an adult. You may be stressed or anxious trying to figure it all out.

Some life areas you may be struggling with could be:

  • Homesickness

  • Change in friend groups

  • Conflict with parents

  • Grades, Deciding a Major, Career Choices,

  • Finding community and purpose

I have worked with young adults in various capacities and settings such as family counseling and mentoring through organizations such as Young Life. By establishing a safe space and building a foundation of trust, you can share openly about your struggles. I use techniques from various treatment modalities such as CBT, Play Therapy, and Adlerian counseling to work alongside you to address the unique challenges you face as a young adult.

Counseling can help provide a time and space to help you process life’s uncertainties with a trusted professional.  Call or fill out the form to schedule a consultation.
